The blueberry, the tiny yet mighty berry

Blueberries, low in calories and high in nutrients, are the healthy eaters best friend but with a slightly tart yet mellow sweet flavor they taste great too.

Across the globe blueberries grow on a highbush, closely related to the cranberry and rhododendron, and are harvested throughout the summer months.

Amongst other nutrients such as fibre, vitamin C and K, blueberries also contain anthocyanins, polyphenols and various phytochemicals which are being studied for their potential high antioxidant role in the human body.

These sweet, juicy and delicately fragrant fruit are now cultivated and enjoyed throughout the world as they are widely appreciated for their huey-blue colour, firm texture and sweet taste.
