Dutch growers

  • Arnoud van Asseldonk, Het Broek Softfruit

It all started 25 years ago with 4 hectares of strawberries, leeks and carrots. Over the years, these 4 hectares have grown to 350 hectares which are now used solely for strawberry, raspberry and blueberry production and to grow strawberry, raspberry and blackberry plants for direct plant sales. Arnoud van Asseldonk and his team of 15 employees, who receive a lot of help from a great amount of seasonal workers, are involved on a daily basis in the cultivation of high quality soft fruit. Every employee at Het Broek Softfruit is equally important. This vision has resulted in happy and committed people, who all want to contribute in the overall mission to supply the best quality berries.

Het Broek Softfruit is a company that does not stand still; Arnoud has a future orientated view. He invests in the research of new varieties and takes care to optimise his growing materials and methodology. This way, he makes sure that he will be able to supply the best quality of soft fruit for years to come.

  • Wil Beekers, Beekers Berries

Originally the Dutch grower Wil Beekers started his company in 1991 growing cucumbers.

After five years he decided to make the switch to strawberry cultivation, this turned out to be a great decision. What started small in 1995 has now become an area of 14 hectares of greenhouses where today not only strawberries, but since 2003, blackberries and raspberries are also grown. At Beekers Berries all these types of soft fruit are grown within long-term breeding program agreements. Wil is constantly looking for opportunities and resources to further develop this program to further refine and optimise the quality and taste of his products wherever possible. The intensive research and selection work that comes with it has already resulted in some sensational taste and quality improvements. Besides strawberries, raspberries and blackberries Berries Beekers extended its product program several years ago with various specialty berries. The Strasberry was launched in 2006 and in 2010 the well-known Pineberry followed.

Beekers Berries believe that the wishes of the consumer are a very important value and are fundamental to every decision they make. By listening to the needs of the consumers, they try to serve soft fruit lovers in the best way possible!
