Building the bridge between our Iberian grower base and the BerryWorld Group
BerryWorld Iberia aspires to develop the potential of the Southern European berry category
BerryWorld Iberia was established in 2016 to act as a bridge between our Iberian grower base and the BerryWorld Group technical, planning and sales teams. Iberia has traditionally been a key soft fruit sourcing area for BerryWorld and we have based key personnel in the area for a long time. As our Iberian grower base and production volumes increased, it became critical to set up a local company. The office is based in Huelva, Spain and aims to support our growers throughout Spain, Portugal and Morocco with a focus on our unique varietal offer and breeding.
The BerryWorld Iberia team is actively implementing the varietal improvement programmes for Edward Vinson, BerryWorld Plus and Mountain Blue Orchards, with a number of dedicated trial sites in the area. In addition, they are involved in a number of research and development projects in partnership with local and international R&D Centres and Universities such as the University of Huelva. BerryWorld Iberia aspires to develop the potential of the Southern European berry category, by adapting the group’s proven track of a tailored category management approach, while leveraging our 52 week soft fruit supply.
