The Egyptian blueberry season is now in full swing and BerryWorld and Agriventure are delighted with this year’s quality. Agriventure’s plantings, in exclusive agreement with BerryWorld, are the largest project in Egypt. To date, Agriventure boast over eighty hectares of industry-leading Mountain Blue varietals and the early season production has been very promising.
“The plants are yielding large, sweet blueberries with the perfect pop. We are excited to see what the season holds this year, as the first feedback from retailers has been very positive” explains Ali Diab, CEO of Agriventure.
The Egyptian production window is strategically important within BerryWorld’s wider objectives of supplying year-round premium varietals to global retail markets, dovetailing the Southern African and Iberian seasons, respectively.
“We are forecasting significant commercial volumes in 2025 and are delighted that the Egyptian production window will help us seamlessly supply Mountain Blue blueberry genetics throughout the entire year. This year’s Southern African season has been particularly strong and now with Egypt and Morocco in season, we can continue to build demand and delight consumers around the globe ahead of Iberia starting in Spring. We see Egypt as a potential supplier to Europe and to the fast-growing middle and far east markets due to its strategic geopolitical position and international logistics,” explains Adrian Olins, Divisional CEO, BerryWorld.
“We have worked with Agriventure for 11 years and continue to be impressed by their agronomic expertise; we are excited at what the future holds as we continue growing the berry world together.”
